How Do You Treat Oily Skin?

Use a natural face cleanser that is especially formulated for oily skin.

Use oil-free moisturizers that will prevent you from having a shiny complexion.

Always keep your face clean but limit washing your face up to three times a day. If you wash too much, your skin will be stimulated to produce more oil.

Use hot water when you wash your face as this will dissolve skin oil better than lukewarm or cold water.

Try to use a clay or mud mask.

Choose cosmetics that are especially formulated for oily skin.

Your diet should be rich in proteins and should have lots of leafy green vegetables and fresh fruits. But limit your intake of sugar, salt, soft drinks, alcohol, chocolates and junk food. Avoid fatty foods.

Having oily skin can be difficult especially for adolescents who often get teased because of their skin condition. But with a change in diet and proper skin care, it can be managed. There is one advantage to having oily skin: you won’t age as fast as those who have less oil in their skin because the oil keeps the moisture locked in the epidermis.
